Wright School Class Projects

Wright School Student Government

On July 18, 2007, Wright School’s first Student Government was formed. The purpose of the Student Government Association (SGA) is to allow the students at Wright School a way of expressing their concerns and making positive change. There are 3 members of SGA, one representing each unit.

SGA's Mission Statement:

To provide high quality activities and advocate for those issues that will enhance the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of all students within a learning community committed to the Re-Ed principles and the spirit of Wright School.

SGA sent out a survey to consisting of yes or no questions asking their peers to select from a list of school-wide activities. See the results of the graph below:
Out of 23 students who responded, the majority wanted to have a water fun day. After two meetings, Water Day was accomplished with a successful outcome! Here are some pictures taken during Water Day::

A bucket full of icy treats, and a pool full of bobbing bubbles...

and a pinata for each group of kids (and adults) to enjoy!

And here are some of the comments students made about Water Day:

"My favorite part was Mr. Oliver’s balloon catch. I liked it because the balloon splashed on you. And you get to throw the balloon."

"I liked the piñata the best. It was funny when Ben hit it. He cut its head off."

"I liked the apple activity. I love the fact that we worked with a partner."

"I liked the Water Relay. It was fun racing my friends."

"I liked getting toys."

"The water sprinklers were fun."

"I loved running through the water sprinklers."

"One thing I liked about field day was wetting the adults."
